Hairdresser Anthony Bell Celebrates First Birthday | |||||
Acton hairdresser brings style and glamour to Churchfield Road
For the past year Anthony Bell has established itself as a very welcome fixture on Churchfield Road. In a road well-endowed with hairdressing salons, Anthony Bell offers something different. From the gorgeous wallpaper to the chandelier and the ply-wood moose head, to the relaxing head massage and bone china cups of tea, those wanting to be pampered in stylish surroundings need look no further. We spoke to Anthony and Kevin as the first anniversary of the opening of their salon approaches. Anthony told us: "When we were thinking about setting-up our own salon local to where we live, Churchfield Road was the obvious choice of location for us." As local residents, Anthony Foley and Kevin Bell have lived in Poets Corner for several years. "We have always loved the road. It has such a feeling of unfulfilled potential, so when we saw that the ‘Dog & Duck’ was to let we knew that we had to try to get it. We had a great idea for a unique salon, different to anything else on offer in the area, and thankfully it worked." The salon has drawn people from all over Poets Corner and beyond. Kevin adds: "We have had the most fantastic and successful year thanks to the support of many of Anthony’s clients who followed him from the West-End to the ‘depths of Acton’ including singer James Morrison who popped in for a quick haircut just before going off to the 'Brits' this year where he collected his award for best British male. Local residents keep the salon very busy and now, through word of mouth, clients are coming in from Chiswick and beyond." The pair agree that launching the salon has been the most exciting and challenging year and a massive learning curve, but also one of the best and most rewarding things they have ever done. "We are looking forward to many more years to come." December 10, 2007 |
