A woman from Dordrecht Road has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for the manslaughter of her partner in March of this year. Laura De Jesus Martins Goncalves aged 27 was also sentenced to 9 months for perverting the course of justice.

She was found guilty of killing Danilo Castanheta-Figuerido aged 28 at her home address.

Her brother Paulo Jorge Martins Goncalves aged 32 who also lived on Dordrecht Road pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and received 5 months which he has already served. The charge against her mother Laura Martins Pimenta Gonclaves aged 65 was dropped due to lack of evidence.

Police were called early in the morning on the 15th March to Dordrecht Road where they found a man who had suffered a single stab wound. They arrested Laura Goncalves and her brother at the scene and their mother the following day.
