A woman has been taken to hospital after being rescued by London Fire Brigade firefighters from a fire in Acton this Monday morning (8 November).

The blaze broke out shortly before 10.37am on the ground and first floor of a terraced house in Myrtle Road which is north of Churchfield Road.

Firefighters entered the building wearing breathing apparatus. As well as the rescued woman, a man was also taken to hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation.

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Acton, Chiswick and Hammersmith fire stations attended the scene.

The brigade had the blaze under control within an hour.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
