£15,000 will be given to young people over the next two years to start up businesses, Action Acton announces today. The local regeneration charity says the launch of the Young Business Awards 2008 will promote entrepreneurship skills and business learning among young people between the ages of 14 and 25.

Budding entrepreneurs will have to come up with ideas that directly relate to Acton and the Acton Market. They’ll work with teachers and community mentors to develop their understanding of how businesses work. Each group could receive a maximum of £4000 of the total available. The applications will be put to a committee and judged on the strength of their businesses plans and suitability to Acton and the Acton Market Regeneration Project.

The deadline for applications is 01 March 2008.
