Foxton's Estate Agency have attracted the attention of Acton residents for their creativity when dealing with properties in Acton. Earlier this summer, it was reported on the ActonW3.com Forum that properties were advertised as being in either Ealing W3 or Chiswick W3. It seemed that Acton was not in the vocabulary of Foxton's representatives and properties were 'moved' to Ealing and Chiswick if they happened to be in W3.

The estate agency has no office in Acton, but handles sales and lettings from offices in Ealing and Chiswick. The latest property to catch our attention on the Foxton's website is a three-bedroomed flat to let in Perryn Road. Earlier today this was listed as in 'Acton Green, W3'. Of course, Acton Green is actually in Chiswick, so the advertisement was slightly misleading - although to be fair the amenities listed (with the exclusion of Acton Central Station which Foxton's has given to British Rail) are definitely Acton's.

When we pointed this out to Foxton's they said they would "look into it". Their representative said later that the employee who wrote the listing was new and "she made a mistake. The listing will be changed on the website."

We like to keep Acton on the map. Half of Acton Park may have disappeared into a huge, black Thames Water hole, almost as big as the basement construction Jon Hunt (former owner of the recently sold estate agency) is planning to dig under his tennis court on Kensington Palace Gardens, but Perryn Road remains in Acton near the Park and a good distance away from Acton Green.

At the last count, Foxton's website lists Perryn Road as being in East Acton.
