Residents, community groups and businesses in Acton are being invited to apply for a share of an £80,000 Acton Community Fund after the town voted for “a clean and pleasant area” as its top priority in Ealing Council’s Your Voice, Your Town programme.

The funding, provided by Ealing Council and administered by Acton’s Town Team, is intended to enable local people to design and deliver practical projects that improve the local environment and build neighbourhood pride. Acton’s Town Team — 16 local volunteers working alongside ward councillors — will help assess applications and support applicants through the process.

“This is Acton’s money, and it’s time for Acton’s people to use it to create the change they voted for,” said Paul Mulcahy, spokesperson for the Acton Town Team. “The £80,000 available in Acton is for great ideas, both big and small, that will directly contribute to a cleaner, greener, and more welcoming town.”

There will be small grants ranging from £150 to £1,500 for localised neighbourhood initiatives and larger grants up to £15,000 for up to £15,000 for ambitious projects with borough-wide or multi-neighbourhood impact.

The Town Team is seeking proposals that address the “clean and pleasant area” priority, including litter and waste reduction, creating or improving green spaces, tackling fly-tipping and graffiti, community clean-up events, and projects that increase local involvement and pride.

The fund is open to residents’ associations, community groups, charities, schools (for projects that benefit the wider community), faith groups and individual local champions. Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm on Sunday 30 November via the dedicated community platform.

To help prospective applicants, the Town Team is running a series of short 15-minute online presentations explaining the fund and how to apply. Sessions, which are being hosted on Microsoft Teams are scheduled for:

  • Tuesday 11 November 2025, 6.00pm — Meeting ID: 932 337 891 992 1; Passcode: JF3gQ2
  • Tuesday 11 November 2025, 7.00pm — Meeting ID: 939 256 841 022 2; Passcode: xx6p3V
  • Tuesday 18 November 2025, 6.00pm — Meeting ID: 935 150 483 116 1; Passcode: Wc94CV
  • Tuesday 18 November 2025, 7.00pm — Meeting ID: 935 657 831 562 2; Passcode: WW9R4D

Local support is also available in person: EHCVS will be on hand at Acton Library on Thursdays between 10.00am and 1.00pm to help groups shape ideas and complete applications. For an informal chat with the Town Team, contact Paul Mulcahy via mulcahyp123@mail.com.

Town Team members say the fund is deliberately flexible so that small, community-led ideas as well as larger projects can be supported. Successful projects will be expected to deliver tangible improvements to streets, parks and neighbourhoods, and to involve local volunteers and partners where possible.

Council and Town Team next steps The Council and Acton Town Team will continue to publicise the fund and to provide guidance to applicants as the deadline approaches. Shortlisted projects will be assessed by the Town Team with a view to awarding grants that produce visible, lasting benefits for Acton residents.
