The car park at the Lidl Store on Western Avenue had to be evacuated after a vehicle caught fire last Thursday (9 October).

London Fire Brigade says it sent two fire engines from Ealing and Wembley station to the store’s underground car park on Old Oak Common Lane after receiving a call at 1:06pm.

One man was assessed by paramedics at the scene but there are no reports of any other injuries.

The van was left badly damaged. There are no reports to suggest anything other than the fire starting accidentally.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
