Event will showcase borough's preparedness for major incident
September 4, 2025 Acton Fire Station will host a public emergency response roadshow designed to demonstrate how Ealing’s emergency services prepare for and respond to major incidents. The event will bring together a wide range of organisations to engage residents in practical safety education and community resilience. Scheduled for Saturday 13 September, the roadshow will run from midday to 4pm at the station on Gunnersbury Lane. It will feature live demonstrations, interactive activities, and opportunities for residents to learn how to respond to emergencies such as terrorist attacks, chemical leaks, and flooding. The event is organised by Ealing Council in partnership with the London Fire Brigade, NHS, London Ambulance Service, Metropolitan Police, the military, and the Environment Agency. Voluntary and community organisations will also be present, offering information and support. Visitors will be able to explore emergency vehicles and equipment, take part in CPR and first aid tutorials, and engage with emergency planning games designed for children and young people. Highlights include police motorcycle displays, riot gear demonstrations, and fire hose practice. A food stall will offer free gourmet burgers, including vegetarian options, and refreshments. Councillor Jasbir Anand, cabinet member for tackling crime and antisocial behaviour, said the event is intended to build public confidence and strengthen connections between residents and emergency services. “This roadshow is not just an exhibition — it’s an opportunity to equip our residents with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to stay safe and resilient in the face of emergencies,” she said. Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Anthony Kelly, who will also attend, described the event as part of the council’s broader commitment to community resilience and public engagement. Entry is free, but booking is required via Eventbrite. Doors will open at 11:45am, and free parking is available nearby. As the event will be held outdoors, attendees are advised to dress appropriately for the weather.
