South Acton Ward Panel Sets Tackling ASB as Top Priority |

Police to increase patrols in areas such as The Mount and Heathfield Gardens November 13, 2025 Local police in South Acton are increasing patrols around key public spaces this winter in response to rising concerns about anti-social behaviour (ASB). The South Acton Ward Panel has identified reducing ASB as its top priority for the season, with hotspots including The Mount, Heathfield Gardens, Meon Road Gardens, Woodlands Park, and communal areas on the South Acton Estate. The Metropolitan Police’s Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) will be conducting regular foot and bike patrols in these areas, particularly during the darker evenings in the run-up to Christmas. The initiative follows recent enforcement operations targeting illegal e-bikes and aims to address drug-related violence and other disruptive behaviour. Acting Sergeant George Zealey said the team would be using “extensive powers to target and deter drug-related violence” and working with partners to address the underlying issues of drug use and dealing. “We want everyone to feel confident and safe when using these spaces, especially women and girls,” he added. Progress will be reviewed at the next South Acton Ward Panel meeting. Peter Robertson, Chair of the South Acton Ward Panel, welcomed the increased police presence. “Nobody wants to feel that any part of Acton is a no-go zone,” he said. “The panel welcomes the SNT patrols to keep people feeling safe, especially when it gets dark early in the run-up to the holiday season.” Residents can follow local police activity via the Met Engage platform at www.metengage.co.uk, though the site is not intended for reporting crime. For non-emergencies, residents are advised to call 101 or use the Met’s online reporting service. In emergencies, dial 999. Ward panels are made up of residents, councillors, businesses and other stakeholders, and meet quarterly to set local policing priorities. Anyone living, studying or working in the ward is welcome to attend. For details on the next meeting or to learn more about the South Acton SNT, visit the Met’s local priorities page here.
