Last Thursday lanes were shut from Wales Farm Road crossing the A40 from North to South meaning that traffic was severely disrupted.

Several posters on the W3 Forum reported delays. People travelling from North Acton across the Western Avenue were reporting delays by at least 30 minutes.

A spokesman from Tfl told us: “Traffic signal cabling at the junction of A40 Western Avenue and Wales Farm Road was damaged following a gas explosion on 18 June. Once the area was confirmed safe by Transco, TfL worked to restore the traffic signals as quickly as possible, and they were repaired on 23 June.”
