Police are appealing for information following a non-fatal shooting near South Acton Estate.

Officers were called at approximately 12:20am on Saturday 31st July by staff at the Central Middlesex Hospital, to reports of a shooting/injured man from a location in Acton.

Officers attended Avenue Road, at the junction with Clandon Close, Acton, W3, where a small quantity of blood was discovered. The area was cordoned off and subjected to a forensic search.

Cordons have since been lifted.

A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital in a serious condition, and received treatment for a single gun-shot wound to the side of his chest. He has since been moved to another west London hospital and is in a stable condition.

Police understand that the man was approached by three men wearing hooded tops, one of whom is described as Asian in appearance. One of the suspects then shot the victim. All three suspects then fled the scene, but it is not known in which direction.

No further descriptions of the suspects are available at this time.

The incident is being investigated by detectives from Operation Trident.

No arrests, no weapon has been recovered and no further persons injured.
