After eye witness reports a while ago of raids on two shops on Crown Street, further news has emerged about the operation.

South Acton Safer Neighbourhood Team issued notices to businesses on Crown Street informing them that the raid was the result of a search warrant issued by the Magistrates Court under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

The notice read: "This search is part of a proactive operation that has lead to the arrest of several persons suspected to be involved in the supply of controlled drugs. Drug dealing and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. The South Acton Safer Neighbourhood Team, with the support of our partners, will tackle crime and anti-social behaviour on the ward."

Locals say some of the local shops are "well known to be crack dens."
