Metropolitan Police are reiterating appeals for information about the murder of Anton Hyman on the fifth anniversary of his death.

A reward of up to £20,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person or people responsible for the murder.

Detective Inspector Jeff Minns of the Homicide and Serious Crime Command said:
"The investigation into the murder of Anton Hyman remains active. I am sure there are people out there who know who killed Anton and why. We need those people to come forward and speak to police. Some have already come forward and provided information to police concerning Anton's death, and for that we are grateful. However we still need those with actual evidence to have the courage to come forward and ensure those responsible are prosecuted.

Five years is a long time. People who may have been too scared to come forward 5 years ago because of the position they were in at the time may see that their circumstances have now changed. I'm asking those people to think long and hard about what they know and to do what they know is right and contact police."

To recap:
On Sunday 21st March 2004 at 11:10 the body of Anton, aged 17-years (DoB 15/5/86), was found in the River Brent, Brent Park, W7. He had been stabbed and shot in the back.

Anton was last seen at just after 20:00 on Saturday 20/3/04 between Greenford Avenue, and Brent Valley Park, Hanwell and we believe he was killed that night.
Anton was black, 5 ft six-and-a-half inches tall and of slim build. When his body was found, he was wearing distinctive bright multi-coloured woolly gloves, blue and white Timberland boots, dark coloured jeans, a dark grey fleece, a green tee shirt and a green shirt with 'Iceberg' written on the breast pocket.

Nine men and one woman who were arrested in connection with the enquiry have
all been released with no further action taken.
