An Acton schoolgirl has won a prestigious prize for her stunning artwork.

Elena Langtry is 18 and attends St Benedict's 6th Form in Ealing. She has a place to study Biology (Human Sciences) at UCL starting in September. She shares the prize with a handful of other talented local artists.

The talented teenager was delighted to collect her Open Exhibition prize (her 6th for this competition) from Pitzhanger Manor Gallery earlier this month. The prizes were kindly donated by For Art’s Sake – an art shop in Ealing.

The winners are traditionally elected by public vote.

The Ealing Open exhibition is a biannual exhibition and this year a significant painting was submitted by famous Ealing painter Alan Gouk (Tate Britain owns an extraordinary  painting by him called 'Cretan Premonition' 1985-6). Other well-known Ealing Artists also submit work as do many part-time artists.
