An Acton beauty company which makes products for sensitive skin has been named runner up in a trade competition.

Pai Skincare based on Colville Road in W3 and employs 23 staff, was narrowly pipped to the top prize - which it won last year for the Business Growth Award, sponsored by Westfield Health.

The award celebrates the achievements of manufacturers and the company was up against stiff competition from a range of businesses, small and large, from across the region.

Sarah Brown, Pai Skincare founder says: “This achievement is testament to our team’s hard work and we are absolutely delighted to have been recognised as a dynamic and innovative growing business. People so rarely think of manufacturing in relation to the beauty industry, so it’s great to help put it on the map as well as recognising the valuable contribution made by London manufacturers.”

Jill Davies, Chief Executive of Westfield Health, says: ''Congratulations to Pai Skincare on their well-deserved success. Manufacturing is an important part of the UK economy and companies that are constantly looking to improve their performance and grow must be supported and recognised for their efforts.''

Entries for next year’s EEF/Aldermore Future Manufacturing Awards will open later this year and local manufacturers are being encouraged to follow in Pai Skincare’s footsteps.
