An organic skincare company working from Colville Road, Acton, has won a top business prize.

Pai Skincare Ltd,, has been named as joint national winner of the EEF/Dunedin Export Development Award at the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards 2013.

The company was picked because of it clear strategy and unique selling point; understanding their customer and market positioning, ensuring they are comfortable with their partners and proceeding one step at a time. The company has seen a tenfold increase in turnover over the past four years.

Sarah Brown, founder of Pai Skincare, said: "We are one of the very few British beauty brands formulating and manufacturing our own products rather than contracting it out. We believe it's this commitment to R&D that makes our product both better and more innovative. It's fantastic to have our efforts recognised by EEF which is synonymous with rewarding manufacturing excellence."

Dougal Bennett, partner of Dunedin who sponsored the awards commented: “Congratulations to Pai Skincare for jointly winning The Export Development Award. To come first in the South East region was a huge achievement but now to be awarded the national title is really an outstanding accomplishment. It is a strong example of a company that has accelerated the growth of its exports whilst showing innovation in identifying partnerships and products in new markets.”

Pai Skincare won the award jointly with Trolex Limited, a Stockport-based manufacturer of gas detection and safety systems for mining and tunnelling.

The EEF Future Manufacturing Award recognise excellence in enterprise, innovation, environmental performance, exporting, skills development and health and safety among UK manufacturers. They also recognise outstanding apprentices.
