13 people have been arrested after Ealing Police carried out dawn raids targeting drug dealers and cannabis farms.

As part of a major Metropolitan Police offensive against street level drug dealing and cannabis farms, officers were out in force across the borough yesterday morning.

Safer Neighbourhoods Teams, Metropolitan Police Specials and other officers executed 24 search warrants leading to 13 arrests.

Officers seized a large quantity of drugs and cash and again local drug dealers and other criminals were hit hard, sending a clear message that drug dealing and criminal activity will not be tolerated on this Borough.

These warrants are the direct result of members of the public picking up the phone and reporting suspected drug activity in their neighbourhoods to the Police or via Crimestoppers.  The local teams are then able to look into these reports, conduct the research and if appropriate obtain a warrant.  This is how we are working with the local community to tackle to local drugs problems and is the ethos of Operation Hawk.

Chief Inspector Dan Thorpe said:

"Yet again Operation Hawk has achieved some outstanding results. Yesterday saw teams from across the borough pulling together to tackle drug related crime on the borough.

Feedback from the community has again been very positive and we will continue to build on this success to make Ealing safer'.

Members of the public who have information about who is dealing drugs in their area are urged to contact their local Safer Neighbourhoods Team or dial 101, the police non emergency number. Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In an emergency, always dial 999.
