Tonight's Tube Strike Cancelled | |||||
RMT and TSSA both return to work after talks
Tonight's planned tube strike is not going to proceed after both the unions involved decided to cancel the action. The TSSA union announced their decision this morning after talks with management at ACAS. At that point it was unclear what the RMT union had decided and there has still been no official announcement from them, but ACAS are reporting that the RMT will also not be taking industrial action. At this stage it is not known whether the other union involved, the RMT will follow suit. According to reports on ITV news, TSSA agreed to cancel after London Underground offered to extend its consultation period with staff and to freeze processing of voluntary redundancy applications. The strike was due to affect services on London Underground from this evening until Friday morning.
