Advance notice of waste collection changes in Ealing borough
This year residents' refuse and recycling collections will change from Christmas Day, returning to normal from Monday, 14 January. The garden waste subscription collection service will not take place over the Christmas period from Monday, 24 December to Friday, 18 January. The service will resume from Monday, 21 January. To help people dispose of real Christmas trees there will be a free collection service provided with weekly refuse and recycling collections from Monday 31 December until Friday 18 January. Trees trunks must not exceed 20cm in diameter and any trees over 6ft will need to be cut in two. Alternatively people can recycle real Christmas trees at some of the borough’s parks and open spaces this January. A full list of these locations will be available on the council website. Residents are encouraged to recycle any food that can’t be reused in their food bin as well as recycling as much festive related waste as possible. The council's re-use and recycling centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Normal opening hours (8am–4pm) apply on all other days over the Christmas and New Year period. These centres are located at Stirling Road, Acton and Greenford Road, Greenford. Please note that the weighbridge at the Greenford centre closes at 3.30pm.
