Christmas rubbish and recycling collections
This year residents' refuse and recycling collections will stay the same over Christmas, and will only be one day later in the first week of January. The council's re-use and recycling centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Normal opening hours (8am–4pm) apply on all other days over the Christmas and New Year period. These centres are located at Stirling Road, Acton, Gordon Road, Southall and Greenford Road, Greenford. Please note that the weighbridge at the Greenford centre closes at 3.30pm. Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, Cabinet Member for Transport and Environment, said: "I want to encourage everyone to recycle their Christmas waste and help us drive down the amount that ends up in landfill. By recycling more, residents also stand a chance of winning some cash for their area through our Recycling Rewards initiative. "I would like to thank people for their efforts and remind them that refuse and recycling collections won’t change over Christmas this year, but will be one day later in the first week of January. Let’s keep Ealing clean and green over the festive break." Call 020 8825 6000 or email customers@ealing.gov.uk with any enquiries about changes to refuse and recycling collections. Further information on recycling and Recycling Rewards can be found on the council website: www.ealing.gov.uk/recycling.
