Eagles' membership soaring as more people start running
Local running club Ealing Eagles are calling for runners take part in the Gunnersbury Park 10km race on 3rd July 2011 at 11am. The Gunnersbury race is open to runners or walkers at any level and last year attracted nearly 200 people into the local area to take part in the race with a small army of supporters! This year the Ealing Eagles have partnered with the event organisers MCC Promotions to help encourage more people to take up running for fun, which is part of the not for profit club’s ethos. Entry is only £11.50 and includes a specially designed t-shirt and medal. Sign up at the Ealing Eagles web-site www.ealingeagles.com/gunnersbury-park-10k. The event will be fully marshalled by volunteers from the Club, ensuring runners and their spectators are safe to enjoy the flat and scenic course. Chairman of the Eagles Alan Brown from Mattock Lane in Ealing said, “We’re delighted to be supporting the Gunnersbury Park 10km run this year. Since January our membership has more than doubled and we’re on a mission to get local people running. Whatever your level a 10km run is a target to aim for and we’d love people to come down to train with us”. Ealing Eagles run every Monday, Wednesday and Sunday from Ealing Green and hold interval training on a Thursday, which is proven way to build up your stamina quickly.
