Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision in Chiswick.

Officers were called at approximately 6:55am on Sunday 24th October to the Gunnersbury Avenue junction with Gunnersbury Lane following reports of VW Golf in collision with a female pedestrian.

The friend of the deceased, who was with her at the time of the collision, was not injured.

Police Officers, London Ambulance Service and the air ambulance all attended the scene and the 24-year old woman was taken to the Royal London hospital where she died early the following day.

She has been named as 24 year old Anna Reilly, a New Zealand national who had been living in East Acton.

Next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and there have been no arrests.

The incident is being investigation by the Road Death Investigation Unit at Hampton Traffic Garage. Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 020 8942 9011.
