Latest Plans For Acton Town Hall To Go On Show | ||||
and details of public meetings taking place this month
The latest designs for the proposed Acton Town Hall complex will be going on show from Friday 15 July. Architects have now developed more detailed drawings of what the leisure centre might look like, including room sizes, interior layouts and how the building will look from the outside. The multi million pound project includes the provision of a new 25m swimming pool, a training pool, a library, leisure facilities, community spaces and council offices. Construction work could start as early as spring 2012 if planning permission is granted. Five public meetings are being held this month where people will be able to look at the drawings, meet the project team and tell them what they think about the proposals so far. The events will be held at: · Acton Baths, Friday 15 July, 7am – 10am and 4pm – 8pm Councillor Julian Bell, Leader of Ealing Council, said: “We are investing a lot of money in the Acton Town Hall development and we want to get it right. That is why we are consulting local people at every stage of the project. “This is the first opportunity for residents to look at detailed drawings for their new community facility and I encourage as many people as possible to come along to one of the events and tell us what they think.” The presentation at the Stirling Road Day Care Centre will be delivered in a format suitable for adults with learning disabilities. People are asked to book in advance if they wish to attend this event.
