During November, children in their final year at Berrymede Junior School will be participating in a project entitled ‘Reflections of Acton’. The project will be led by Liane Sparks and Sue Edkins of Diverse Community Arts. It’s funded by Ealing Special Grant Fund and Acton Charities.

Each child will be given the chance to reflect on their time living and going to school in their local area. They will achieve this by taking photographs, from which they will choose images that can be broken down into principal shapes. The children will then translate their designs onto pvc sheets, kindly donated by Retail Plastics and Area Screen Printers.

At the end of the month, the resulting artwork will be displayed in the screens situated on Churchfield Road, behind The Oaks shopping centre in Acton (The screens were designed by local artist Mamily Sheibani.)
