Sessions with food available for children eligible for free school meals
June 2, 2026 Oxygen Activeplay, which operates four London parks including its Acton site, is providing free physical activity sessions and hot meals to more than 1,500 children as part of the government-funded Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme. The support spans 10 of its parks nationwide and includes its five Ninja Warrior UK venues. The company worked with 11 local authorities during the Easter holidays to deliver four-hour sessions combining physical activity, enrichment activities and a nutritious hot meal for children who are usually eligible for Free School Meals. Oxygen says demand has risen sharply as families face growing financial pressures, and it plans to extend the programme across all its parks in time for future school holidays. The sessions have been wellreceived by families, with staff praised for their enthusiasm and the energy they bring to the programme. Several venues also hosted additional HAF sessions tailored for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), widening access for families who often face additional barriers to play and activity. Oxygen Activeplay’s Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Wilson, said the programme reflects the company’s core mission. “Each of our parks lies at the heart of its local community, and we are so proud that we can welcome families and children through our doors, whatever their means,” he said. “The HAF Programme and our partnership with Coram PACEY are brilliant vehicles to help us make this possible.” Alongside its HAF rollout, Oxygen has announced a new partnership with Coram PACEY, the national organisation supporting childminders and early years professionals. Through the partnership, childminders, nannies and early years workers will receive exclusive discounts, including 25% off Toddler Play and Toddler Takeover sessions, and 10% off food and drink. The aim is to make early-years play more accessible and affordable for carers and the children they support. Oxygen Activeplay says it is now working to expand its offer further for the summer holidays, when demand for childcare, activity and meal support is at its highest.
