Attacker is believed to be a man who was known to her
A woman in her twenties was taken to hospital after a stabbing on Church Road in Acton on Sunday morning (10 May), in an incident that prompted a large police response including a helicopter search. Police were called at around 7.30am, where they found the victim with stab wounds. Officers said her injuries were neither life-threatening nor life-changing, and she was treated in hospital later that morning. A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. During the arrest he allegedly assaulted a police officer, causing minor injuries, and was further arrested on suspicion of two counts of assault on an emergency worker and threats to kill. He remained in custody. Police said the victim and suspect are believed to be known to one another. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said the force understood the concern such incidents cause locally and stressed that tackling knife crime remains a key priority, confirming that a full investigation is underway. Officers also appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to contact police quoting CAD 1850/10May.
