Police need help from residents in closing down property

Mark Pullen, the new Sergeant for Acton Central Safer Neighbourhood Team, is asking for help after several arrests in a 'crack house' on Alfred Road.

The flat is now boarded up after the warrant was executed. Drugs and paraphernalia were also seized from inside the property.

Those arrested have been interviewed and the case as a whole is with the Crown Prosecution Service awaiting a decision as to whether there is sufficient evidence to proceed to a court trial.

Sergeant Pullen is keen to stress that the Police action was greatly helped by local residents who supported them. He says he would like to say "thank you to all the local residents who have supported us in taking this action.

"The behaviour of persons and goings on associated with the address has affected many within the local community. I appreciate this issue has caused many people distress, but I believe we are heading towards a positive conclusion."

The Police are in the process of compiling information to present to court and apply for a ‘crack house closure’. This would allow the removal of everyone from the property and for it to be boarded up for three months.

In order for the Police to be successful in this, they need help from the community who were so badly affected by the events in Alfred Road over the past months. 

This would be presented to the court in the form of a written (anonymous) witness statement of the behaviour and activity in and around 11d Alfred Road. 

Sergeant Pullen says: "I and my team are happy to take these statements from you; these statements can be edited prior to court to protect your identity. We are happy to attend your home, or alternatively you are welcome to visit our office."
