Police are appealing for witnesses following the mugging of a teenage girl on Aldbourne Road, W12. The incident took place at 18.45 on Friday 16th February.

The seventeen year old girl was on her phone when she neared the junction of Seddlescombe Road and and 13 Aldbourne Road. She heard footsteps behind her. She had her bag resting on her left arm and her phone was up at her right ear using her right hand.

At this point a man in front of her and thrust a knife out towards her. He was not attempting to use it but held it out at arms length. He asked for her bag, which she immediately handed over. He then spotted the phone and snatched that out of her hand. He then ran north along Sedgford Road and then right into Aycliffe Road Road .

The knife is described as a kitchen knife with a blade approximately 10 cm long.

The victim was extremely upset and cried out which alerted a local neighbour who came out to her and brought her in to her house and called police.

The man is described as 5ft 6ish, of Somalian appearance wearing glasses and with a slim long face. He was wearing a navy blue zip up hooded top.
