Acton Gardening Association Open Day this Sunday
Acton Gardening Association's now eagerly awaited Open Day will be on Sunday September 6 from 12:00pm till 4:00pm on their Perryn site in Bromyard Avenue. opposite King Fahad Academy. Guest of honour and speaker at 2:00pm Sir William Atkinson, head of Phoenix School, where he has introduced a quarter of an acre growing area. Head of the London Beekeepers Association and Acton resident John Chapple will display a see-through bee-hive complete with bees, and will be talking about beekeeping. There will also be a display of chickens with their owners able to provide you with information about how you could keep them too. Plus loads of home-cooked food, plants and produce for sale, tea and coffee. Come and talk to us about your gardening problems. Children welcome. A.P.P.L.E, Acton the charity which provides inspiring activities for young people have an allotment on the site and will be there. Could you grow figs, or vines in Acton? Yes you can.
