West Acton Residents Association (WARA) set up in February 2003 has launched its new website. The new website is a way for residents to keep up to date with local campaigns, consultations and activities between meetings, which are held on a quarterly basis. The website also provides helpful contact details for the community.

The Association is open for all residents in the West Acton area to join. The area included surrounds North Acton Playing Fields, from between the Western Avenue and the bridge over the railway line at the end of Noel Road. We come to together to raise and address issues that concerns the WARA residents. These include whether it is about parking, anti-social behaviour, planning permissions or pollution.

Treasurer Alan Cartwright said, the website will give residents access to information relevant to them and allows them an easy way to raise an issue that is of concern to them.

The Association works with local councillors, MPs and the community police officers.

Chair:  Sheela Selvajothy
Treasurer: Alan Cartwright
Secretary: Margrit Wachnicka.

WARA covers an area roughly triangular in shape, with two railway lines and the A40 forming the boundaries.  To the west the boundary is the Central Line (from the A40 to just past West Acton station).  To the east the boundary is the National Rail lines (Acton Main Line to the bridge where Noel Road crosses the railway).  The north boundary is the A40 (between where the road crosses the Central Line and Gypsy Corner).  WARA includes approximately 1400 residences and currently has about 150 members.
