The Mayor of Ealing will be on hand to cut the ribbon for the centre which will have initially have a total of 16 shopping outlets. Tenants including Iceland, Boots, Wilko, Lidl and The Gym Group have already opened in the centre, with more expected to start trading in the coming months.

Pupils from local schools in Acton will brightening up the centre after winning an art competition. Their drawings will be displayed on the walls of The Oaks. Three winners from Derwentwater Primary school and three from Ark Priory Primary, aged between 5 and 11 will have their art on show in the entrance.

Anne Hurrel, from NFU Mutual, owner of The Oaks shopping centre said: “I’m delighted school children have produced some fantastic work for the launch of The Oaks. I hope they are excited to see their masterpieces hung on the walls as much as we are. After a number of years in the making, we are pleased that this first-class shopping centre in Acton is delivering high quality retail and leisure facilities to the community. We have worked hard to bring a fantastic mix of retailers to Acton and are in further talks with many others to make The Oaks a welcome addition to the area”.
