An investigation is underway after a murder in West Kensington.

At around 3.55pm on Friday 21st October police were called by paramedics to an address in Dewhurst Road W14 where a man in his fifties had been found dead.

A post-mortem examination at Fulham mortuary was held today on Sunday, 23 October and gave cause of death as head injury.

Next of kin have yet to be informed and formal identification is being awaited.

An incident room has opened at Hendon under Detective Chief Inspector Tim Duffield from the Homicide & Serious Crime Command (HSCC).

DCI Duffield said: "It is believed that the victim was attacked inside his home between 7.00pm on Thursday, October 20 and some time the following morning. I'm eager to speak to anyone who was in or near Dewhurst Road during that period. It's quite possible that a person or a vehicle was seen hanging round the area or leaving in a hurry, which at the time may have seemed insignificant. If you're in any doubt, please contact the Incident Room. All calls will be treated in the strictest confidence".

Anyone with any information in connection with this incident is asked to contact the incident room on 0208 358 0400 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

There have been no arrests, enquiries continue.
