Growing disquiet over new rubbish contract
It follows the news that the borough's rubbish contract with Amey (formerly Enterprise) has been renegotiated - resulting in a number of the current services downgraded.
Cllr Ann Chapman, Conservative Spokesman said:
''Most people would probably like to work less for the same pay, but that doesn’t happen. Taxpayers are paying a premium for a lower specification service and the failures of the badly managed commercial contract; so much for Labour’s Manifesto commitment to deliver value for money and cleaner streets/ parks.
Ealing Council has pointed to the committee papers on their web site but they say specific information hasn't been made public because of 'commercially sensitive financial information about the contract.'
We have requested more detail and comment.
