A Blissful Experience at Nara's
Prevention Coco facial reviewed
Imagine if massage was available to everyone on the NHS. Just think what a far pleasanter world we could all be part of.
Such were my thoughts as I drifted off in my uber relaxed state in an oasis of calm in the otherwise bustling W3.
Nara Health and Beauty Clinic on Churchfield Road has become a firm favourite of both locals and those further afield, with many visitors travelling across London and even flying in from abroad for the variety of treatments on offer here.
I was sampling a 'Luxury Jean D'estrees' facial at the hands of expert clinician, Ania.
It's described as an exclusive skincare range that combines both relaxation and science.
Ania explained that it was important to prepare the skin first by cleansing and exfoliation before starting the main part of the facial - an amazing massage. Using delicious smelling honey and ginger serum she deftly worked on the whole of my face, deep circular motions and light tapping sensations.
I was transported into another universe - no exaggeration. The lighting, music and general ambience played a part but I think the massage was the key.
When she finished that section and told me she was going to apply a chocolate mask I really did think I had gone to heaven.
Ania left me to relax some more and then returned for the last stage which was to remove the mask (shame it couldn't be eaten!) and then apply the final moisturiser.
She explained it was crucial to massage the face because it encourages blood circulation and allows the skin to fully absorb the mosturisers.
I was sad the experience had to end, but checking the mirror I could see my skin was plumped up, pink and glowing and I floated out of the building with a wonderful feeling of contentment.
I would certainly recommend the Prevention Coco facial - especially for anyone in need of some deep relaxation.
I only wish it was available - along with other types of massage - on prescription.
With thanks to Nara and team.
