A new Saturday market is set to begin in Acton on The Mount outside Morrisons.

Launching on Saturday, 3 October assuming Covid-19 regulations at the time allow, it is set to run for seven weeks with the intention of evolving into a Winter Wonderland market from 21 November.

The market aims to encourage small business development and economic growth in Acton.

The focus will be on vintage, up-cycled, recycled and resale clothes from local fashion sellers with pitches rotated each week.

An interiors section will be headed up by interior stylist Liz Bauwens, owner of Otto Trading and will feature new and vintage homewares

A range of gifts will be available featuring eco, sustainable and local products, including flowers and plants.

The organisers are working with Social By Max, a local supper club series and have brought on board a range of food stalls from Indian and Caribbean to Greek and Polish.

As well as fashion and food there will be creativity. Street Art project Acton Unframed will host a live street art installation featuring what is promised to be a world class artist.

Art installations will include a recent sculpture made of Jamal Edwards MBE, by the artist Matt Small as part of the Acton Unframed project.

Permission is being sought to add street art to the market floor which is currently a large grey town centre open square.

There will be a DJ booth on site with the possibility of some big name DJs turning up.
