Acton's new leisure centre is celebrating opening its first women only gym with free activities.

It will be happening at the centre - officially known as Everyone Active - on Acton High Street this Friday (23rd January) 10-2pm and although free donations are being accepted for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Everyone Active General Manager Luke Charlton said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for local women to try their hand at the equipment and activities on offer here while raising much needed funds for charity. We’re encouraging everyone – including our staff - to wear something pink on the day to represent the charity as well.”

Councillor Patricia Walker, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for leisure, culture and customer services said: ''There are fewer women than men enjoying fitness activities yet 75 per cent of women say they want to do more. I am therefore especially delighted to welcome the new facilities which will hopefully encourage women of all ages and levels of fitness to get involved."

The women only gym was added this month in response to customer feedback which highlighted a need for it in the area.
