GLL in partnership with the London Borough of Ealing has recently completed a £150,000 investment programme to upgrade and modernise the fitness centre at Acton Swimming Baths.

The fitness centre now boasts brand new Technogym cardiovascular and resistance equipment in a refreshed and welcoming environment with new floor and mirrors as well as extensive redecoration and improved lighting.

After re-opening on Wednesday 24 October, the refurbishment has already proved a hit with existing members and new ones who have been inspired and motivated to get in shape by the refurbished area.

Councillor Nigel Sumner, Cabinet Member for Health and Community Well Being, said: "We welcome the investment GLL is making at this centre. There are fantastic sports facilities in the borough and this latest project helps to bring yet another centre up to modern standards and make it more appealing to residents."

An open weekend will take place on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 November when local residents can tour the excellent new facilities and get expert advice on their fitness needs from experienced and trained staff.

The Acton refurbishment is the third investment of the three leisure centres since GLL took over the management contract in the London Borough of Ealing in November 2006. GLL, a not for profit organisation, prides itself on investing in the centres and more improvements are scheduled at Gurnell and Dormers Wells Leisure Centre’s in the future.

For more information about the special offers available on the 17 & 18 November open weekend, please visit Acton Swimming Baths or call the centre on 020 8992 8877.
