Labour Councillors for Acton Central met with local residents to discuss the current state of the opposition to the planning application for the old Conservative Club building at 91 Shakespeare Road.

Leading the meeting last night at The Rocket, Cllr Dan Crawford heard residents concerns about the development. Concerns ranged from the 'wrong aesthetic' to the fact that the current building is historically significant and should be saved.

Cllr. Crawford urged residents, who numbered around 30, to write to the Council's planning department before this Friday's deadline.

Crawford said his feeling was that residents had  good case for stopping the development.  "Is this (plan) going to benefit the local community? My view is that it does not."
