Talented Children Bring Poetry to the Streets
Michelle Smith has had a great response to her Community Poetry programme. Perhaps you will already have spotted some of the wonderful entries. We are reproducing a few below - see how many you can spot as you walk the streets of Acton. Michelle said: "I'm really amazed how many poems were submitted. We had about 40 poems in total from age 5-40. I always knew Acton could be the sort of place where people would appreciate an initiative like Community Poetry. "I hope everyone will take the time to read the poems. It's a great way of looking at our community differently." Michelle particularly wanted to thank Ann Johnson, Head of English at Acton High. Many pupils at the school sent in their poems and designed backgrounds for them, too.
