Arson Suspected as Park Royal Bakery Catches Fire Again

The Fire Brigade have had to attend a blaze at an industrial bakery in Park Royal for the second time in a week.
15 fire engines and over 100 firefighters were called to Minerva Road this Saturday evening (7 May) after receiving 11 calls from the public from 5.54pm.
Half of a warehouse used as a bakery was damaged by fire but there were no reports of any injuries.
Station Commander Mark Nunan, who was at the scene, said, "On arrival, crews were faced with heavy smoke coming out of the building but firefighters worked incredibly quickly to get the fire under control. Smoke has now subdued.
"One of the Brigade's 32-metre turntable ladders was used as an observational tower, providing an aerial view of the incident.
"Firefighters are expected to remain on scene throughout the night."
Fire crews from Park Royal, Acton, Willesden, Wembley and surrounding fire stations took just over an hour to get the blaze under control.
The Met Police have been called in to help the Brigade’s investigation indicating that arson may be suspected. The same building caught alight on Wednesday morning (4 May) destroying part of the ground floor and much of the roof.
