A man has died after being caught in a fire on Chaucer Road in Acton this Saturday (6 August).

The victm, who is described by London Fire Brigade as elderly, found dead at the scene. A woman was rescued from the first floor by crews wearing breathing apparatus.

Part of the second floor of the three storey property was damaged by the fire.

The Brigade was called at 6.06am and the incident was over at 7.28am.

Crews from Acton, Ealing, Hammersmith and Southall fire stations attended.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
