Two men have been stabbed this Thursday (9 March) with one suffering life-threatening injuries on a residential road that runs parallel to Gunnersbury Avenue.

Both victims, who were attacked at around 9.30pm, are in their thirties. Two other men were also treated for injuries and remain under arrest.

The following day Eagle Park School, a special school on Park Place was forced to close as police continued their investigations with Manor Gardens also inside a cordon. Residents are being asked to avoid the Manor Gardens area 'if at all possible'.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said, "On Thursday, March 9 at 9:36pm, police and the London Ambulance Service were called to attend Park Place, Chiswick responding to reports of a stabbing. Police and London Ambulance Service attended and located two men – aged 36 and 39 – suffering stab injuries. Both were taken to hospital.

"The 36-year-old man is in a life-threatening condition in hospital; the 39-year-old man’s injuries have been assessed as not life threatening or life changing. Two other men subsequently attended hospital for treatment to stab injuries. [A] aged 36 and [B] aged 23 were treated for their injuries. They were both arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and discharged into police custody where they remain.

"A scene was opened and remains in place. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.

"Any witnesses or anyone with footage of the incident, either mobile phone, social media or dash cam or any information is asked to contact police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting reference CAD7064/09MAR.

"Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org."
