A 63-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a woman who has been missing for over two weeks.

Neculai Paizan, who is believed to have resided in a shipping container on an industrial estate in Park Royal, was arrested on 18 May in connection with the disappearance of Agnes Akom.

The 20-year-old woman, who was also known as Dora, had moved to London from Hungary three years ago and was last seen in Cricklewood Broadway on Sunday, 9 May.

She was reported two days later and police launched an investigation into her disappearance. Police were seen searching the area around Lennox Autos in Park Royal with a forensics team and dogs at the site for three days.

According to people working at businesses around the site of the search the man arrested had been living on a shipping container at the rear of the car showroom.

On the evening of Sunday, 23 May, Mr Paizan was charged with murder even though no body has been found.

He was due to at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 May.

Detectives say they are still pursuing all possible lines of enquiry and are appealing for the public to come forward if they see or have seen anything suspicious that they feel may be relevant.

Agnes is described as being about 5ft 5in tall with blonde hair, and was wearing a white fake fur coat, blue ripped jeans and light pink trainers when she went missing.
