14 people who attended a performance car meet in Park Royal have been given Fixed Penalty Notices by the police.

Initially officers thought a burglary was underway at the business park on Whitby Avenue when they were called just before midnight on Saturday 9 January to reports of suspected trespassers.

On arrival they found a gathering of people with high-powered cars.

Inspector Damien Smith, North West Command Unit, said, "The Mayor of London had declared a major incident in the city the very same day because of the dangers Covid poses to us all. Yet this group of people still totally ignored the rules and met up. They were all rightly issued with fines and the event dispersed."
