Michael Wright, aged 24 of Newark Crescent, NW10 appeared at Ealing Magistrates Court earlier this week charged with Attempted Theft from Motor Vehicle and Common Assault.

At 02.22am on 20th July Police received a call from a 23 year old man stating he had just witnessed a man attempting to steal from his vehicle in Newark Crescent.

He said that he heard the alarm sound on his vehicle, a Silver Ford Pickup truck, which was parked in the road. He went to investigate and found the front nearside window had been smashed and a man in his 20's sitting in the driver's seat. He attempted to detain the man but he managed to flee the area losing his trainer during the struggle to escape.

Officers arrived on scene a short time later and arrested a man in Horn Lane in his 20's on suspicion of motor vehicle offences.
