A man was robbed by two men at the weekend. One of the robbers said he was a police officer and asked the man to prove his identity. The victim produced his wallet which was then snatched.

When the victim tried to run away he was dragged behind some parked cars, punched and threatened.

Police arrived quickly on the scene and two men were charged this week with the robbery of a 32-year-old man in Gunnersbury Lane, W3 at around 2.30am on Sunday December 2nd.

John Wade, aged 45, of Brook House, Gunnersbury Lane was arrested on Sunday and was charged with robbery the next day at Ealing Magistrates Court. He remains in custody and will appear at Isleworth Crown Court on February 18.

John Bonner, aged 42 of Cuckoo Avenue, Hanwell was also arrested and charged with robbery and with impersonating a police officer. He too will appear at Isleworth Crown Court on February 18.

The victim did not need medical attention.
