Acton History Group in conjunction with the Acton Library and the Passmore Edwards Society are staging an exhibition on the life and works of Passmore Edwards (benefactor of both Acton Library and Acton Hospital) at Acton Library from Tuesday 3rd May to Wednesday 15th June 2011..

There is an illustrated talk by Dean Evans of the Passmore Edwards Society on 15th June at 6.15pm. The exhibition is free, but tickets for the talk are available from the library.

2011 marks the centenary of the death of Passmore Edwards, a Cornish born philanthropist who built more than seventy buildings nationwide, including the Acton Library and the former Passmore Edwards Cottage Hospital on Gunnersbury Lane, now the Acton Care Home.
