Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision.

The incident happened at 6.30am on 6 March on The Vale at the junction with Larden Rd.

A 78 year old male, who was out walking with his dog, was in collision with a white Ford Transit van as he crossed the road.

London Ambulance Services attended and the man, who suffered serious head injuries, was taken to Charing Cross Hospital where he is understood to be in a critical condition. The driver stopped at the scene.

Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit at Alperton Traffic Garage are investigating the incident and witnesses are asked to call 020 8998 5319. If you know anyone who might have been in the vicinity of the accident around the time of the incident forward this news item to them.

The Vale was closed after the accident between the Dordrecht Road junction and the East Acton Lane junction.
