Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a man died in a road traffic collision between a lorry and a caravanette at approximately 07:50 this morning.

The 40 tonne articulated lorry and the Volkswagen caravanette collided after the lorry, travelling west on East Acton Lane, crossed over onto the other side of the road at the junction with Bromyard Avenue.

The lorry was in collision with the caravanette travelling east along the same road.

The male driver of the caravanette died at the scene and was taken to hospital. He has not yet been formally identified.

Bromyard Avenue, East Acton Lane and Glendon Road are presently (1pm) closed.

A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and taken to a west London police station.
