Locals living close to Acton Park where travellers have set up camp say they hope they will move on soon.

Freelance reporter, Rory Thomas, has been at the site today (4th Nov) and says despite his attempts the occupants were reluctant to comment and closed and bolted the gates.

However he did speak to residents, and other people working in the area, who told him of their concerns.

One woman said: '' Police have been here every day, and I'm relieved to be honest. They are squatters and the site is ... well, police are here at 8:30am most morning trying to get in."

An elderly resident said she thought the group arrived a week ago:

'' Somebody called the fire brigade because they saw a fire...two fires!  And then the fire brigade were summoned again on Tuesday. The dogs have been barking... If Ark had guarded that place properly - if they'd had security that would have been the best thing. And of course there are huge amounts of rubbish at the rear that'll have to be cleared."

Another said she had heard children setting off fireworks on Halloween but otherwise hadn't heard much more noise.

Ealing Council has started the process to try and get the group removed.

We have asked Ark for comment.
